Fashiontine for Valentine’s

On February, 12 2015, “Fashiontine,” so called because of Valentine’s Day being only two days after, took place in front of the school by the main office. There was no way anyone could have missed it, even if you didn’t see the flyers posted on every floor of Stamford High School. The activity was very exciting. The students were selling the items since 7:25, the start of school, to 2:05, the end of school.

“Nothing has sold out,” According to sophomore Ashleigh Lyons. According to seniors Cassandra Dorcile and Justyna Cichonczuk, “The fashion class has been planning this activity since November.” “We have sold a bunch of empanadas that will be donated back into the cooking program and the jewelry is going fast which will provide money for fabric and sewing machines,” said senior James Gronberg.

The items sold were hats, glasses, jungle jacks, placemats, bracelets, cell phone bags. And food. We can never forget about food, can we? According to Ms. Vans, “More beef than chicken was sold, including empanadas!” They also had cookies which cost only $.50 and chips and ice tea at $1.00 and gatoraids at only $2.00. The prices of the items ranged from $.50 to $12. According to junior, Andrea Estevez and sophomore, Kaitlyn Barnes, “the bags are the most expensive because they’re homemade.” If you did not get anything, it was no one’s fault but yours, because the prices were more than fair.
