During the winter months, we all want to look our best, but it’s just so hard to bundle up and still look GREAT. The abundance of cold weather accessories – (hats, gloves, scarves) can be overwhelming, and bulky sweaters, coats and boots can leave you looking like snow woman if you’re not careful. Wearing the right things and putting outfits together to look your best can be easy, if you use some of these tips!

Sunglasses in the winter; no, they’re not just a summer item. No, they don’t look silly on a cold day. They protect your eyes from light, and bright winter days. From a style perspective, shades finish off your winter look, and when people are cranky due to the weather, or when you’re tired, have a cold or just don’t want to be seen, sunglasses can actually be a big help.

Wearing the correct boots during the winter is also one thing that is very important, and should be reinforced to most people. Ugg boots, moccasins, and flats are things to avoid. Yes, Ugg’s can be useful on a bummy day or running out of the house, but don’t try to spice up an adorable outfit with them because it won’t work. Flats and moccasins aren’t safe enough to wear during the messy and cold season of winter, rethink about purchasing or even wearing those two.

Combat boots, tall riding boots, and even low snow boots aren’t only appropriate for the weather, but can look great with any outfit! Also, Make inner layers warmer! Your outer layer doesn’t necessarily have to be long and heavy. You can keep warm with a chunky jumper, thermal under wear or extra layers and finish off the look with a denim, leather jacket or pea coat. Just make sure that your under layers are somewhat visible to everyone, because if not, you can look like you’re stuffed into multiple layers that cannot be seen.

Snow jackets, windbreakers, and dressy coats are always acceptable as long as they go correctly with your outfit. Throwing together a messy outfit can have you looking like you got dressed in the dark! Winter hair is actually something to be thought about. When wearing a big scarf with an outfit, you should try and wear a nice high messy bun. Having your hair down can make you not only feel uncomfortable, but look like too much is going on and could be quite annoying throughout your day. Having your hair down and free of being tied back is fine when just wearing a simple outfit, and going on about your day.

I hope all of these fashion tips for the winter has helped, and interested you to rethink any outfit ideas you’ve had in mind!
