Tips for jumping out of a plane

Skydiving is hands down the best thing I have spent money on. It’s not only an insane adrenaline kick, but it’s also fun and an awesome experience. If you’ve never been but have always wanted to, I totally recommend it. Some people never go out of fear and everything, but honestly, once you do it, you won’t regret it. I loved my first skydiving experience, but there are definitely some things I would’ve changed so if you’re planning on going one day, I suggest you take some time to read this article and check out these tips so you can have the best experience possible.
1. Well first you have to get over your fear and be willing to spend the money on it. I promise it’s worth it. Look online for places you feel most comfortable with and schedule your jump. Make sure you find someone with a good view. You’re up in the air for a little while before you jump out of the plane, so the least you could do is have a nice view.
2. DRESS APPROPRIATELY. I cannot stress this enough. You do not want to wear anything uncomfortable or too flowy. I suggest basically go dressed sporty. Wear sneakers, and wear something that’ll cover your legs and arms. Given that you’re in such high altitude it gets a bit chilly, so wear something that won’t allow you to be too cold and that you’ll feel comfortable in.
3. Get there early, and be prepared to wait a while. Even though you make an appointment there you might have to wait a while. Even though getting there earlier means a longer wait, it still means you’ll get finished with the basics earlier and be prepared to jump earlier. There’s training and papers to fill out, so be early. You may have to wait a while because there are people in front of you, and it does take a bit of time to jump, so be patient.
4. PAY ATTENTION TO INSTRUCTIONS. Even though when you jump you forget half of the stuff mentioned to you, given all the adrenaline and the fact you’re free falling from a plane, pay attention to what they say. The instructions are important for a better jump experience. They not only help you out, but they also help your instructor out so listen.
5. Just relax. After you’re done with the training, it starts sinking in that you’re actually about to do it. That’s when you start to freak out a bit – I actually saw some people back out at this point. You need to simply breathe and relax. Think of other things. It gets even more real when you get in the plane. It’s a little weird that you’re basically sitting on someone’s lap but don’t worry, you’re fine. You kind of don’t even realize given the fact that you’re freaking out but remember to just breathe and try to remember the instructions.
6. When you go to exit the plane, DO NOT CHICKEN OUT. Go through with it and go all the way. It’s an awesome experience! Make sure you pay attention to your instructor, and listen to him to see how your jumping out process is. It may vary depending where you are, who your instructor is, etc.
7. Once you jump out, enjoy. You may not remember anything you were taught, but it’s ok, your instructor will help you out. Don’t look down and freak out! The best part is looking out and seeing the amazing view. When you look down you’ll basically just see trees and freak out more. LOOK FORWARD AND ENJOY THE BEAUTY.
8. Last but not least, pay attention to your instructor about how to land. If you don’t listen and do what he says, you may not have such a great landing and may even injure yourself (or the instructor).

I hope whoever reads this actually goes through with it! It’s awesome and worth it. Don’t forget to brag about it; most people don’t have the courage to do it, so enjoy your accomplishment!
