Directions: Please read below for descriptions of the trips the College & Career Center currently has planned. Students must meet the GPA requirement if designated, and have their school counselor verify it on their permission slip. Permission slips are available from Ms. Forlenzo in the school counseling department. Students must also read full description to understand time of departure from SHS and return to SHS. Some trips have lunch provided and others do not. If you have any questions please reach out to your school counselor, or Ms.Forlenzo. Permission slips must be returned by designated deadline, no exceptions.

Sign up on Naviance: Click on Colleges, College Visits, and then View Details. Read the info and register to attend. You must then get and return a permission slip.

UConn, Stamford

Wednesday, March 30th

This trip is available to 11th grade students with a cumulative unweighted 3.0 GPA. Please note that we will be walking down to the Stamford branch, so wear comfortable shoes. We will meet in the College & Career Center at 8:15am before departing as a group. Sign up info provided above.  EXTENDED DEADLINE: Permission slips due by Friday!

Western Connecticut State University, Danbury, CT

Tuesday, April 19th

This trip is available to 11th grade students with a cumulative unweighted 2.5 GPA. We will meet in the College & Career Center at 8:30am before departing together. Students will learn about admission requirements, housing options, student activities, and more. Students will also tour the campus and be provided lunch. Sign up info provided above. Tully Health Center, Stamford, CT

Monday, April 25th

This trip is available to 11th grade students interested in learning more about health care professions. We will meet professionals from all different areas including a pharmacist, radiology technician, X-Ray technician, medical doctor, physician’s assistant, personal trainer, physical therapist, nurse, and more! This is an awesome opportunity for any student interested in pursuing this career path. Sign up is limited, as this is in collaboration with all 3 schools. Sign up on Naviance and permission slips are due by Monday, April 18th.

Tuesday, May 24th

This trip is available to 10th AND 11th grade students with a cumulative unweighted 3.25 GPA. Please note that we will depart SHS first thing in the morning; meeting in the College & Career Center at 7:25am, sharp! If you are not on time the bus will unfortunately have to leave without you because we have a strict schedule to meet for arrival. We plan to get back between 2:30-3pm. This always depends on traffic. If you typically take the bus home from school you will need to plan for alternate arrangements. Lunch will be provided.
