On Friday, October 27th, at 7:30 p.m. 8 members of the Strawberry Hill Improv Players (SHIP) performed an improvisational comedy show in the small theater at Stamford High School for parents, teachers, students and other supporters.

The cast took to the stage with tremendous excitement. Elder Rivera, a new member of the club, shared his thoughts on his first SHIP show saying, “I had so much fun and I’m positive that the group and audience loved it too”. SHIP captains John Bolognino and Lalith Goli, along with supervisor Bobby Pavia, did a wonderful job of casting the performances. Freshmen Matthew Murray, Elder Rivera, Emma Valerio, Justin Villard and Alex Wynne took on strong roles for the show, making up the majority of the cast. Juniors Bolognino, Goli, and Bella Sorial returned to the stage for this spooky SHIP show. The club meets on Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. where they practice their ability to think on their feet through various comedy games and exercises. Supervisor Bobby Pavia thinks that “it’s great that people can just take a break from the world for an hour and come laugh”. During the show, the cast played a variety of improv games, ranging from full cast slapstick comedy like “World’s Worst” to games with only two members like “Speed it Up”. No matter what the cast size was or the game being played, the audience never stopped laughing. SHIP alumni Sophia Camporeale shared that “coming back and seeing how everyone has progressed and grown in their craft makes me so happy”. The cast was “terrifyingly funny” as promised.

SHIP’s next performance will be on December 22nd, 2017. Be sure to come see them in action!
