Sisters Sweeps Theaters as a Lighthearted Comedy

Mia Vitti, Staff Writer

The film Sisters, starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, is a movie full of craziness and laughter. Directed by Jason Moore, this hilarious comedy was released on December 18, 2015.

The story starts when Maura and Kate (Poehler and Fey) are told that their parents put their house on the market. The siblings are very unhappy with their parents’ decision and are told they must stay for the weekend to clean out their childhood room. Once they return to their old home, the sisters decide to throw one last party and invite all of their old high school friends. Once the party starts to get out of control, the girls soon realize it wasn’t the best idea.

I thought this movie was great. From start to finish all I did was laugh at the performances of the two main characters. Poehler plays a successful nurse in her mid-thirties who is recently divorced and doesn’t get out too much. Fey, also playing a character in her mid- thirties, is an outgoing single mom struggling with money. Both actresses do a great job at portraying these characters. The two of them are a great pair; they will seriously have you cracking up all throughout the film.

If you are up for a good comedy I highly recommend this movie. Sisters is one of the funniest movies that I’ve seen in awhile and I’m sure many would agree with me. Fey and Poehler are both known for their comical personalities and they really stand out in this film.  So if you haven’t seen it already, I advise you to check it out in theaters!
