On Tuesday, Stamford High’s athletes were recognized at the 2017 Fall Sports Awards Ceremony. The following is the list of students who were commended for their outstanding performances on and off of the field:

Most Outstanding Male Athlete: Ali Essallamy (Senior)

Most Outstanding Female Athlete: Andrea O’Connor (Senior)

Football:

  • MVP: Matthew Doyle (Senior)
  • Coaches Award: David Marciczkiewicz (Junior)
  • First Team All-FCIAC: Mikey Riddle (Senior)

Boys Soccer:

  • MVP: Ali Essallamy
  • Coaches Award: Emmanuel Moran (Senior)
  • Scholar Athlete: Josh Labkoff (Junior), Alex Grabar (Senior)
  • First Team All-FCIAC: Ali Essallamy, Oleh Senyk (Senior)
  • All-State: Ali Essallamy

Girls Soccer:

  • MVP: Kaitlyn Filanowsky (Junior)
  • Coaches Award: Lia Chichester (Sophomore)

Girls Volleyball:

  • MVP: Andrea O’Connor
  • Coaches Award: Gloria Mattioli (Senior)
  • Scholar Athlete: Andrea O’Connor and Gloria Mattioli
  • First Team All-FCIAC: Andrea O’Connor
  • All-State: Andrea O’Connor

Cheerleading:

  • MVP: Alexa Carrero (Junior)
  • Coaches Award: Bella Tuccinardi (Sophomore)
  • Scholar Athlete: Isabella Viggiano (Senior)

Field Hockey:

  • MVP: Stephanie Walsh (Senior)
  • Coaches Award: Amy Liebman (Senior), Emily Sorbara (Senior)

Cross Country:

  • MVP: Ashton Williams (Junior)

Girls Swimming:

  • MVP: Faith Somody (Junior)

With the fall season wrapped up, the Black Knight Nation can know shift their attention toward winter athletics. Girls Basketball begins their season on December 15th at Wilton High School, and Boys Basketball takes on Joel Barlow High School on December 16th at home.
