Lady Knights Take Down Fairfield Ludlowe In Home Opener

After annihilating Lauralton Hall almost effortlessly last week, the Lady Knights set out to beat Fairfield Ludlowe yesterday in the Kuczo gym. Though they didn’t win by 32 like they did against Lauralton, they still came out on top in a fairly lopsided game, beating the Falcons 55-39.

Star G Tiana England, who earlier in the year announced her commitment to St. Johns to play basketball, scored 12 points with 6 assists. Junior Camille Martinez added in 15 points in the victorious effort. Sophomore Alexa Kellner had a strong defensive showing with 16 rebounds. Fellow sophomore Andrea ‘O Conner chipped into that effort with 13 rebounds.

The girls seem to be picking up right where they left off last season. A season in which Martinez proved herself as a 3-pt machine and England scored her 1,000 point. Two games into this season and it appears Tiana is doing Tiana England things and Martinez is back to her not-so-old ways.

Today, the ladies will prepare for a battle tomorrow against the Ridgefield Tigers at Ridgefield High School. Of course, after the game against Ridgefield the focus will turn to next Monday, December 28th when the girls will take on cross town rival Westhill.
