Spring Sports Awards Recap

On Tuesday, June 9, Stamford High had its third annual Spring Awards ceremony in the large auditorium, honoring the varsity athletes of the 2015 spring season. The athletes walked into the auditorium and sat with their teams. Then the Star Spangled Banner was performed by the Madrigals (on tape) and the crowd was led in the Pledge of Allegiance by Athletic Director James Moriarty.

Moriarty introduced each of the head coaches, who then called up their seniors and announced the winners of the coaches’ award. After each head coach had spoken, Moriarty announced the FCIAC scholar athlete for each team. Once all the scholar athletes were recognized, Moriarty gave out the MVP award for each team. Moriarty then announced the Spring 2015 Most Outstanding Male and Female Athlete and awarded scholarships to some seniors. At the conclusion of the ceremony parents and athletes were invited to the cafeteria for refreshments.
