Life can present a great deal of stress. A poll done by NPR.org shows more than half of teens and adults have trouble with coping with stress. Living a stress free life can reduce the risk of illnesses related to the heart. Everyone should know how to deal with stress. Everyone is different and everyone has a different way of dealing with it. When you’re stuck on how to relieve yourself, look at these four tips on how to live a stress free life.

Exercise

If you’re stressed out on a day to day basis than exercise can be a really good way to freeing yourself from that stress. Virtually any form of exercise works according to an article by mayoclinic.org. Anything from weightlifting to yoga does the job. After you lift weights or go for run your mind forgets about all the day’s irritations and only focuses on the task you just did. In that effect you would just feel relieved. Another way exercise helps you is that stress is also caused by not getting enough sleep. When you exercise you use up a good amount of energy in your body so in that effect you will feel more tired, and that will lead to you having a good night’s sleep and living a stress free life. I would advise creating a workout schedule for everyday of the week.

Reading and writing

Reading and writing is another good way to live a stress free life. Sometimes I find myself reading a good book or just writing to clear my mind. When your mind is in the middle of writing than you can’t think about the things that are troubling you. And sometimes you end up writing come good stories. And after you read or write you’ll feel that you have no problems at all and you will live a healthier lifestyle. Additionally, your imagination runs wild and it could make you look at life differently.

Talking to someone

“Being around a best friend decreases levels of the stress hormone cortisol” says Amanda Chan of the Huffington Post. Sometimes to feel better you need to tell someone what is bothering you. It’s better to talk to someone that is very close to you like members of your family or a trusted friend. You can benefit from that bond with that person. Additionally, speaking with someone can give you a new perspective on things. Also the person that you talk to may also have had a similar experience as you and you give you some advice on what to do. Also when choosing the individual to talk to you want to pick a person outside the situation that you are having trouble with, because it prevents you from getting any bias advice.

Hobbies

If you’re feeling stressed out after a long day and you have something that you enjoy doing such as a sport or a hobby like model building than do that. When you do something you like doing you go to your happy place. You can do what you’re doing the way you want to do it and that could fell very satisfying. Hobbies also provide a good source of eustress says webmd.com staff. Eustress is the healthy kind of stress so replacing distress with eustress can yield positive result. Additionally hobbies can be a great social outlet so you can meet new people that have similar interests of you. When you have a hobby you also feel a sense of accomplishment when you complete whatever you’re working on. And feeling a sense of accomplishment can really boost your morale and make you forget about your bad day.
