As many of us know, fashion trends are always coming and going; they are always moving in different directions, even if it is only from one season to another.

Social media impacts the fashion industry and influences the public eye; it is the gateway for people to discover new fashion trends going on and the styles that are “in” right now. An example of a fashion trend that we constantly see scrolling down our Instagram feeds is the choker trend.

The 90’s trend has been creeping back in a variety of ways. The original velvet, metal, rhinestone and leather choker looks are attracting women and gaining popularity by the minute. The look is delicate, different and definitely adds a little bit of an edge to even the simplest look. This trend is being highly promoted by big celebrities and models, often via social media, and they can influence their audiences. We have celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Rihanna who can rock that 90’s look to a casual lunch date. We also have celebrities like  Kim Kardashian and Emma Stone who can pull off an elegant look on the red carpet.
