As many of you know, I was born and raised in Brazil and I’m also a country girl. Yes, I was raised in a small town but I spend every weekend at my dad’s farm. I love country music and thank goodness that it keeps getting more and more popular lately. I know that it gets a little crazy choosing an outfit for a country concert and we get stuck on what to choose from our closets without having to spend a lot of money. When it comes to country concerts most people go straight to thinking of wearing plaid and jeans. While that is a nice option,  there is so much more you could wear! So, here’s a list of different clothing–that’s not too expensive–that could throw together to make a perfect country concert outfit:

#1: Plaid

Plaid looks good no matter what country concert you are attending or what the weather is. If it’s chilly, you could put on a plaid flannel long sleeve shirt to warm up. If it’s summer and the weather allows, rolling up the sleeves of a cotton plaid shirt should do the job! Wearing it open with a tank (solid-colored of course) is a great look.

#2: Denim

You can never go wrong with denim. Weather it’s a long pair of jeans or a pair of shorts (depending on the weather), denim looks good with just about anything. Another option would be to throw on a denim jacket over a cute sundress if it’s an outdoor concert.

#3: Boots

Cowboy boots are clearly a classic for country concerts. They’re not only cute but they are simple and go with shorts, jeans, or even a dress. I know though, a pair of nice cowboy boots can get pretty expensive, since I’ve been searching for a pair for my Hunter Hayes concert this weekend. If you’re not trying to spend all that much money on cowboy boots, you could always find a pair that looks similar at DSW, Steve Madden, or amazinglace.com. There’s also always leather boots or riding boots, which work just as well! If you don’t feel like going all out with cowboy boots or boots in general, you could always opt for some cute sandals, like plain Havaianas or even sneakers like Converse .

#4: Dresses & Tops other than plaid

If you don’t want to wear plaid or shorts or any of the above, you could always wear a cute and simple little sundress. It’s a perfect outfit for a comfortable fit, which you need for any concert. You could wear a simple floral dress or a cute solid-colored sundress. A belt at the waist along with a denim jacket and some boots would totally complete that look. With a floral dress or plain sundress–in this case at least–the best thing to do would be to wear cowboy boots. But, if you’re not comfortable with that or don’t own them, sandals are perfectly fine. There’s also always the choice to wear a cute simple tank with shorts or a crocheted tank or a flowy top (which is totally more comfortable)– or even a tube top with sandals!

#5: Hat

If you really want to go all out, a cowboy hat is a necessity. They always look good with any outfit and they are really cute so I totally recommend wearing one. Senior Bella Frattaroli says “You always want to top off your outfit with a cowboy hat and cowboy boots!” If you don’t want to do that, you could always wear a baseball hat for a sunny outdoor concert.

Some final tips would be to just feel comfortable. Also be careful to NOT mix plaids!

It’s also a good idea to not bring a big bag but instead, a simple one given that most venues check your things. So, to save some time at the entrance, a simple cross-body bag is the best. And last but not least, wear your hair down. Whether it’s some loose, relaxed curls or straight hair– just have it down for a relaxed look!
