Steve Jobs is directed by Danny Boyle and written by Aaron Sorkin, who have both worked on critically acclaimed movies such as The Social Network and Slumdog Millionaire. The movie’s primary theme is the relationship between Steve Jobs and his daughter. This is portrayed beautifully throughout the movie. Steve Jobs, which is filmed through the backstage of three product launch events, shows in each scene Jobs’ daughter at a different point in their relationship. Jobs, played amazingly by actor Michael Fassbender, shows the gradually emotional side of Jobs toward his daughter, while still being an arrogant person.

While the movie presents the connection between Jobs and his daughter well, I would have enjoyed the movie more if it had covered more of Jobs’ life. The movie doesn’t address many connections in his life. This includes his wife, Laurene Powell Jobs, his exiting from Apple, and the relationship with his biological parents. The relationship between Jobs and his daughter is a very big part of his life, but not the only part.

In addition to this, I also feel the narrative could have been different. In the movie Jobs (2013), Steve Jobs was played by Ashton Kutcher, and the movie showed his life from Reed College to the introduction of the iPod. Though the acting with Fassbender was clearly better, the plot in Jobs had a much straighter narrative.

In the end, Steve Jobs had a solid plot, a great cast, and amazing acting. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is a Steve Jobs fan. I would give this movie a 3.5 out of 5. Steve Jobs is playing in theaters everywhere.
