Stamford High’s PTO/FOSH will be hosting the first ever Color Run event this upcoming Friday, September 15 from 2 to 4:30 in the afternoon.

The Color Run costs $20 and includes a color packet and a raffle ticket. There is a Deluxe package, which costs $40 and includes sunglasses, a bandana, t-shirt, color packet, and two raffle tickets. There’s also a Super Deluxe package that costs $100 and includes five raffle tickets, two color packets, sunglasses, bandana, and a free t-shirt. Raffle ticket prizes include a variety of gift cards to stores such as Starbucks, jewelry, and more!  There will be four different color stations, a DJ to set the mood, and raffle tickets for prizes. Along with the run, there will be a food truck tailgate. The food trucks include the Melt Mobile, Reddi Rooster, HAPA, and Kona Ice.

The idea to bring a Color Run to Stamford High was created by PTO members Susan Bolognino and Sharon Deluca.  Bolognino said, “We were looking for something that would get the entire student body together for one event, something that was a lot of  fun and could also involve family.” Bolognino’s hope is to have 200 or more kids participate and for it to become an annual event.

The fundraising money will go towards the after prom, senior scholarships and other items that cannot be afforded by the school budget, such as calculators and cameras. Bolognino also stated, “The more money we get, the better stuff we can do for you guys,” so make sure to come to the Color Run to better the Stamford High School community.

10 percent of the proceeds will also being going toward the class with the most participation. This class will also win $1,000 for prom! The senior who brings in the most donations will receive VIP seating and parking for graduation. The individual who brings in the most donations in each class will receive a special gift.

The shirts are limited, so make sure you sign up before Friday. After the Color Run there will be a football game, so make sure to come and support the Black Knights!
