Stamford Boys Basketball “Rams” Past New Canaan

Stamford High Boys Basketball improved their record Tuesday to 4-1 after winning their first home game of the year against New Canaan. The final score of the game was 52-35. Stamford received strong performances from senior Jay DeVito with 22 points, junior Nico Laveris had 12 points and sophomore Tevin St. John chipped in with 9 points. DeVito also shot 61% from the field. Senior Steffan Harding lead the team with 5 rebounds.
Stamford got off to a slow start turning the ball over four times, scoring only 11 points in the first quarter. In the second they continued the trend scoring just nine points with seven turnovers.
During the second half, the team effort led the Knights to a total of 32 points and only six turnovers. The strong second half play empowered Stamford to a demanding win over the New Canaan Rams.
They will visit Westport on Friday in a match-up against Staples.
