Knights Fall Short In Annual Jamboree
December 15, 2014
This past Saturday December 13 the annual hockey jamboree took place at Terry Connors Ice Rink in Cove Park.
The Black Knights took the ice for their first game at 4:05 against King Low Heywood. The Knights came out unsuccessful as they lost to the King Vikings 3-1. Senior Tommy Molgano scored the lone goal, assisted by senior Zach Rood in the eleventh minute of the shortened fifteen minute games.
The Knights then played the Trinity Catholic Crusaders after a fifteen minute game between Westhill High School and King Low Heywood and a twenty minute intermission. Unfortunately, despite valiant efforts by the Knights, they came up short losing to the Crusaders 4-0.
The Knights last game was against cross town rivals, Westhill High School. By this point, Black Knight Nation was riled up and ready to support the team throughout the entire game. Across the ice, the infamous Westhill “purple pack”, was chanting for the whole rink to hear.
When the puck was dropped both fan sections broke out into screams.
The Knights left everything they had on the ice, but again came up short losing 4-1. Senior Andrew Kydes, assisted by senior Tommy Molgano scored the only goal of the game.
Although the Knights had poor luck in the jambo, the fans are still looking forward to a successful season ahead.
