Curiosity of Anne Margaret Eliertsen

Seniors Jalen Brown and Anne Margaret Eliertsen were recipients of the Fall Sport Athlete of the Year Award

On December 3, Stamford High had its third annual Fall Awards ceremony, in the large auditorium, honoring the varsity athletes of fall 2014.

Mr. James Moriarty, Stamford High Athletic Director, welcomed the parents and athletes and recognized the members of the athletic council that were there. The council members and the head coaches sat on stage. Moriarty then had each of the coaches come to the podium and they announced their team, seniors, MVP, and gave out the coaches awards for each team.

Moriarty then present Anne Margaret  Eilertsen with her award for making the ALL-STATE Volleyball team. After he presented the award for Male and Female Fall athlete was presented to Jalen Brown and Anne Margaret Eilertsen.

Then the audience watched a short slide show created by Maddie Santora that had pictures from games practices and pasta parties. The slide show also featured videos amazing plays made by Stamford High athletes and even some fan clips.

The awards given were as follows:

Cheerleading:

  1. Coaches Award went to junior Karen Skipworth
  2. MVP went to sophomore Jessica Torrellas.

 

Girls Field Hockey:

  1. Coaches Award and All-FCIAC Scholar Athlete went to senior Rebecca Rakowitz.
  2. MVP and All-FCIAC Western Division went to junior Jennifer Krupa

 

Girls Cross Country:

  1. Coaches Award went to senior Isabella Husu
  2. MVP and All-FCIAC Western Division went to senior Megan Rule

 

Boys Cross Country:

  1. Coaches Award went to senior Casey Hyman
  2. MVP and All-FCIAC Western Division went to junior Daniel Burger (AITE)
  3. Sophomores Gilmar Barrios, Dan Berger also won All-FCIAC Western Division

 

Boys Soccer:

  1. Coaches Award, All-FCIAC Western Division and All-FCIAC Scholar Athlete went to senior Michael Nunziante
  2. MVP, 1st Team All FCIAC and All-FCIAC Scholar Athlete went to senior Joe Schinella
  3. Senior Jorge Alvarez also won 1st Team All FCIAC
  4. Other All-FCIAC Western Division winners were seniors Leao Valladares, Kristian Lukasiak, Luis Maradiaga

 

Girls Soccer

  1. Coaches Award went to senior Aolani Hermosura
  2. MVP, 1st Team All FCIAC and All-FCIAC Scholar Athlete went to junior Alexandra Lemekha
  3. Another recipient of the All-FCIAC Scholar Athlete award was senior Nicole Labkoff

 

Girls Volleyball

  1. Coaches Award and All-FCIAC Scholar Athletes went to seniors Nicole Pease and Brianna Arias
  2. MVP and 1st Team All FCIAC went to senior Anne Margret Eilertsen
  3. 2nd Team All FCIAC was awarded to senior Nicole Pease

 

Football:

  1. Coaches Award went to senior Andi Memeti
  2. MVP and 1st Team All FCIAC went to senior Jalen Brown
  3. Senior Andrew Antoine also won 1st Team All FCIAC
  4. All-FCIAC Central Division recipients were seniors Billy DeVito,  Rich Benoit, Chris Hynd, Mardochee Bruno, Tyree Smith and junior John Michael Bivona
  5. Football head coach Jamar Greene was also awarded the Central Division Coach of the year
  6. Winners of the All-FCIAC Scholar Athlete award were seniors Andrew Chait and Tyler Serricchio

 

Swimming and Diving

  1. All-FCIAC Scholar Athlete was Kaitlyn Hutter
