Hockey Players Wanted!

Ever since the beginning of high schools sports in Stamford, there has always been a cross town rivalry between Stamford High vs. Westhill vs. Trinity.

Over the past years, numbers for the Stamford High hockey program have decreased greatly. Many kids have graduated and have left to begin playing for other programs not affiliated with high school hockey in order to gain recognition from colleges and junior college programs.

This year the number of hockey players from Stamford High has dropped greatly and we are in danger of not being able to support a hockey team.

Many options have been considered in the past such as combining the teams from the three high schools, or just not being able to support the program at all, which no one wants to see happen.

For this upcoming season, the boys’ team could find themselves sharing the rink with Trinity Catholic, and not being able to partake in the ever popular jamboree.

Because of the severely low number of players, there is a very high possibility that Westhill, Stamford High and Trinity will co-op for the game.

The only way to avoid this problem is if kids join hockey!

Many people that don’t know much about the sport of hockey are quick to label it as boring. But coming from a player himself, I can say it is one of the most entertaining and fun sports to play.

The game is fast paced, and it can be easy to get a hang of if you practice and work hard enough.

Overall, there’s nothing more rewarding than being a part of such a close knit team and representing that Black Knight Pride.

If you are interested in playing, even if this is the first time you have ever tried, please contact me at either my email or my phone listed below. We are counting on you, the up and coming athletes of Stamford High, to take your pride for the school and play for our hockey program.

You will represent Black Knight Nation in a great way as the team looks forward to a fun and successful season. We hope that the numbers will began to increase and we can keep the Black Knight hockey program in full swing for years following.
