Summer’s Never Over When it Comes to Ice Cream
November 7, 2016
Even though winter is right around the corner, and it’s starting to get colder, it’s never too late to go out and enjoy some ice cream. This May, the Milkcraft Ice Creamery opened in Fairfield, CT, and it has quickly become a popular hangout spot for teens and families alike.
What’s unique about this ice cream place is that it uses liquid nitrogen to make its ice cream, and you can watch them do it as you wait in line to pick up your ice cream. They are also famous for their delicious warm waffle bubble cones. After hearing so many great things about the place, I decided to take a friend and go give it a try.
The first thing that I liked about the place was how modern looking and different it was compared to most other ice cream shops. Also, they had a wall full of different flavors you could get, and all of them were so unique, like: Cookie Butter Blue, Milk and Cereal, Vietnamese Coffee, PB&J Roasted Banana and so much more. They also had a lot of personalized toppings to choose from, like pocky sticks or homemade whipped cream. There was even a nice area outside with tables where you could sit and socialize while you enjoyed your ice cream.
I decided to go with the S’mores Campfire; one of my friends got the Milk and Cereal, and both were very good. Mine came with a warm toasted marshmallow on top, and my friend’s had some chocolate cereal pebbles. The portions were very big and hard to finish, but the taste was great, and the whole experience was enjoyable and definitely something different to try.
Overall, even though it was a bit of a drive, it was all worth it and I am glad I went and tried this new place out, and I will definitely go back. If you haven’t been to Milkcraft yet, I recommend you go and experience and taste this creative way of making ice cream. There aren’t many ice cream shops that make your ice cream right in front of you and use liquid nitrogen, so it’s definitely something cool and different!
