Two of Stamford High’s very own seniors, Morgan Arvoy and Anthony Kresmery, have recently been accepted to FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) and will be living out their fashion dreams starting next fall. Both plan on being a part of the FMM program, otherwise known as the Fashion Merchandising and Management program. By studying within this program, they are majoring in business, and Arvoy points out that she “can essentially do anything in either the business world, or both the fashion and business world combined.” Her ultimate dream would be to “become a famous stylist for celebrities or work for a major company such as Michael Kors or Prada.” Kresmery states: “I plan on eventually owning my own store. I want to sell designer clothes and have locations across the globe.”

For Kresmery, FIT was always his number-one option: “I have always loved fashion and the idea of working in the fashion industry. FIT is the best school in the country for people like me, so it’s always been a dream to apply there.” Arvoy’s interest in the school was developed in a very different manner. “From the moment I did a project on Michael Kors in the seventh grade and found out that he went to FIT, I knew I wanted to go there. Although he went for design, I still wanted to follow in such inspirational footsteps.” She claims that “he is the reason I’m following my dream.”

When it comes to the people that inspire Kresmery and Arvoy in their style choices, the choices range from parents to designers. “My biggest inspiration for the way I dress is my mom. Since before I could even dress myself, she always told me that I can wear whatever I want and that I shouldn’t be afraid of what other people think,” Arvoy explains, “I can dress preppy, casual, sophisticated or boho-chic. The only thing consistent throughout my wardrobe is confidence.” Kresmery, on the other hand, is specifically inspired by designers such as Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, and Yves Saint Laurent.

As well as having the same interest in fashion, Arvoy and Kresmery are also best friends! They are most looking forward to living in New York, surrounded by people that are interested in the same things as them as well as being with each other. Arvoy exclaims triumphantly, “I am excited to finally experience the dream I have been waiting for, for all these years!” Congratulations to the both of them and good luck at FIT!
