Thinking about dropping out of school? Go ahead, but be aware that you will most likely not make enough money to support yourself independently. I’m going explain that to you today, because I have a job that pays very well, but it doesn’t mean that I’m going to completely drop out of school. I work at one of the best private event facilities in Stamford, and I got this job from my prideful uncle. At first I didn’t like it because I had to do a lot of physical work, but in the end I’ve found my calling – advertising the facility, as well as handling payments and other monetary transactions. Overall, it is a very interesting job.
I thought to myself, “One day I’m going quit school and make a lot of money and spend it on a lot of expensive items.” Now I realize that dropping out of high school is a terrible option, even if you have a good job or live “comfortably.” Students think that having a good amount of money in their bank accounts or pockets means that they will be able to depend on that money for the rest of their lives. I thought about dropping out of school because I thought I was making a lot of money, but it was all a façade. If you are the breadwinner of the house, you have to pay a lot of bills. Think about it: money doesn’t last long when you have to pay your mortgage, groceries, electricity, phone bills, etc.
I’ve decided against dropping out of high school, because I want to see how my life turns out four years from now. College is a must; even though I have the job I want, I also need to have a graduate degree to receive a higher salary or income. If you have a dream or goal in life, don’t quit school, because you never know what could happen. Don’t follow your dreams: lead them. Push yourself to overcome your fears and see what you can achieve. Not all people fall in love with money, but I personally love “the game,” and I don’t plan to quit for a while; that is, until I end up owning the building! But I now realize that finishing high school and attending college are an important step along the way.
