Paul Walker, one of the stars of the Fast and Furious movies died Saturday, November 30th in Santa Clarita, California along with his best friend, Roger Rodas. According to reports by CNN, Rodas and Walker were taking a ride after hosting Paul Walker’s non-profit organization event, “Reach Out Worldwide”, which set out to help the Philippines. Rodas was driving the 2005 Porsche Carrera in which Rodas and Walker died. Police had said that there might have been a race going on when the crash happened, but now they are backing up from that because no eyewitnesses have come forward to confirm it. However, they are positive that speed was a big factor in the crash. A surveillance camera did not capture the Porsche, but it did capture the collision and later the explosion which happened a minute after. Rodas and Walker were headed to Roda’s shop according to people at the charity event whom have said to have heard the crash from their location. The Porsche is “a notorious vehicle to handle, even for professional drivers, according to Autoweek Magazine” mentioned CNN.
Walker’s death has moved many hearts, like that of his friends and family who have showed their condolences through their pages and tweets. Paul Walker left his 15-year-old daughter Meadow with a big heartache; she had recently moved in with her famous father from Hawaii. Paul had told his father that he wanted to take a hiatus from acting to spend time with his daughter when he got another movie offer, and he just didn’t know what to do, according to CNN. His father, Paul Walker Sr., told CNN, “I’m just… glad that every time I saw him, I told him I loved him, and he would say the same thing to me.” According to MSN, Vin Diesel addressed the fans at the crash site, saying, “I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for coming down here, and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciated him. Thank you.” Tyrese Gibson, also being one of his closest friends, posted a picture up on Instagram showing the last texts they had shared for thanksgiving. He also tweeted, “My heart is hurting so bad . . . no one can make me believe this is real.” There is no doubt that Walker had a big heart, and will be remembered by many.
Paul Walker filmed 25 movies, and a commercial for Pampers when he was two years old. He got recognized because of his roles in the Fast and Furious movies, but has had many roles over other films. There is no guarantee that the seventh Fast and Furious movie will come out next July, since the production has been halted. Although Walker had done most of his scenes, they are still debating on how his character will be portrayed or what is going to happen to be able to release this movie. According to CNN, when Oliver Reed died while filming Gladiator, his character was a digitally produced image on the face of another actor’s body. In other cases, they have had other actors fill in the roles of the co-stars when they have passed away. Tom O’Neil told CNN “It may be tasteless to process at all, because we can’t be showing Paul Walker in a speeding car, defying death in a movie that ended up being the way he died.”
