A Stamford High School senior was found dead in his home Wednesday Oct. 30 in what appeared to be a suicide, police reported. The student was discovered by his father who returned home at about 3:45 p.m. Medics were unsuccessful in reviving him. At this time, The Round Table is not identifying the student out of respect for his family.
This is the third youth suicide in the Stamford and Greenwich school districts this year.
Stamford Schools Superintendent Winifred Hamilton released a statement saying, “We are saddened and disturbed to learn of the death of one of our students. We are all deeply affected by events like this, and our sympathy goes out to the student’s family and friends. The death of a student affects our entire school community.”
Principal Dr.Valentine said, “We are all deeply affected by events like this, and our sympathy goes out to the student’s family and friends. The death of a student affects our entire school community. We plan to provide grief counselors, psychologists, and social workers for our staff and students tomorrow and throughout next week.”
Details on a memorial service will be updated once they are released by the family.
