Apple’s iPhone 5s and 5c, recently released to the public on the 20th, have created quite buzz with their new slightly modified style and features. The iPhone 5s comes in three different colors: Space Grey, Gold, and Silver instead of the previous white and black. The 5c is plastic and comes in 5 colors: green, yellow, blue, pink, and white.
There are new features of the iPhone 5s, mostly under the hood. There is a new A7 and M7 chip. The M7 chip make the phone more efficient, while the new A7 chip delivers up to two times faster computer and graphics performance. An upgraded camera comes as one of the new features, very similar to the old one, but the camera lens is a little bigger. A new over-the-hood feature is the touch ID fingerprint scanner, which allows you to unlock and confirm purchases with just your fingerprint.
The iPhone 5c is a little different when it comes to features. There is no upgraded performance or efficiency, because it uses the same chip as the previous IPhone 5. There is also no fingerprint scanner on the 5c. The camera is upgraded like the 5s. The 5c is pretty much the same as the IPhone 5, but it’s plastic and comes in five different colors. The 5c is marketed towards kids; the plastic makes the exterior more protected and cheaper to replace while, the colors grab the customers’ attention.
Both IPhone 5s and 5c share a new operating system: IOS 7. There are many new features and designs. The layout of the phone stayed the same, while the icons are brighter with more vibrant colors. The whole phones design is brighter and more simple for example the message screen is white along with the keyboard being white with hints of color to distinguish the messages received and the one you sent. Most important feature is the control center, an easy way to control music, brightness, and wifi. You can access your camera, flashlight, calculator and more all by simply swiping upwards; similar a feature to Samsung phones. There are many great new design changes features on the new software. The IOS 7 is compatible with IPhone 4 ,4s and 5 and compatible with iPad 2 and up.
The IPhone 5s is retailed at $199 for 16 gigabytes of storage, $299 for 32 gigs and $399 for 64 gigs, all with a contract from your cell phone carrier. The 5c starts at $99 for 16 gigabytes and $199 for 32 gigs, also with a cell phone plan.
If these new design and tech features look on the IPhone 5s and 5c seem appealing to you. You are able to purchase them in October, due to a sellout of all phones in first few days of release.
