Do You Have a Warped View of Warped Tour?
April 7, 2017
Have you ever heard of Warped Tour? Well, if you haven’t, it’s a traveling rock festival that has toured the United States (including three or four stops in Canada) each summer since 1995. It is the largest travelling music festival in the United States and is the longest-running touring music festival in North America. It is very well known within the rock and metal community because these genres are usually the type of bands that would perform at the festival. But recently, they have begun adding in some DJs and other genres and intensities of the music.
Warped Tour is a music festival where people go to discover new music and bands. Bands
who want to become famous usually perform and advertise their music and clothing.
If you have never been to this music festival it’s probably because you may think it’s weird or violent due to the stories you have heard about the past, but in reality, from personal experience and experiences of friends, the people who go there are very nice and the music there may be something you aren’t expecting at all.
People from all over the country go to Warped, there are even some who follow the whole
entire tour. Meeting these people is an amazing experience. You get to make new friends and probably discover some new surroundings. Now since metal or rock is what is usually played there, you may be turned off by it, but this year’s line is is very diverse in terms of the intensity of the genres. So if you like soft rock or acoustic to chill alternative music, this year’s lineup may be for you.
The lineup is also full of brand new bands. This is the true purpose of this festival. It gives a chance to those who love to play music and allows them to be put out there. Hey, who knows, you may find your new favorite band or DJ.
Another reason you may want to consider going to Warped this summer is the price. Tickets
for the local Hartford, CT show starts at only $43.50! Imagine that; you get to see tons of bands and listen to new music, meet some new people, get a bunch of free merch, and even meet famous band members, all for that low price.
So maybe you should add Warped Tour to your summer to-do list. You never know what you’re missing, you may end up seeing some familiar faces there!
