Marvel has Cinematic and Box Office Success with Captain America: Civil War

Nicolas Lucente, Staff Writer

So, Marvel… Do you guys have a time machine or something? Because time and time again your movies continue to amaze me. It’s almost as if you can go into the future to see if people will enjoy your films and then go back in time to fix the movie if the audience didn’t like it.

Marvel has done it once again, but even better than before. Captain America: Civil War had the action that fans craved as well as the story line that it needed. The perfect combination led to one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

Anthony Mackie, also known as Falcon, says that this movie is more like an “Avengers 2.5” instead of an stand alone Captain America film. His statement proved correct. The film featured all of the big name heroes such as of course Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, The Vision, Antman, War Machine, Falcon, and the very first sighting of Black Panther and the long awaited Spider-Man.

I’m holding myself back right now because I want to go off in so many different directions talking about all of the little details and every single scene of the movie. I want to talk about how crazy it was when Antman… Nope. Nope. See, I caught myself. But that just goes to show how excited I got after seeing this fantastic work of cinematic art. A must see, not just for superhero or Marvel fans, but a must see for everyone. It has everything from drama to a little romance to action to comedy, the list goes on. Which is why this movie was just so impressive.

The magnificence of the movie showed according to the box office. On Friday alone the film grossed $50.253 million. This would be the record if it wasn’t for a movie known as Jurassic World. But that was just Friday, for the whole weekend the film grossed… Wait for it… Drum roll please… A whopping $366.5 million. This is when your jaw is suppose to drop. That number is insane, especially for a superhero movie. So clearly the movie’s success is plentiful.

So clearly, a fantastic film that is worth going to see. I mean why wouldn’t you want to at this point? If you still don’t, there is a name for people like you… Dummy. A dummy is what you’ll be for passing up such an experience that may just change your perspective on movies all together.
