Disney’s Newest Animation Does Not Disappoint
March 14, 2016
Disney recently released one of its most popular movies yet, Zootopia, directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore. In the wonderful city of Zootopia, everything from little mice to large elephants live in peace and harmony, where they can all achieve anything they set their minds to. When Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin), a bunny from a small town, becomes the first of her kind to be admitted into the police force, she learns that being in the force is not all fun and games. But being the ambitious bunny she is, Judy is determined to prove herself as an officer by solving one of the biggest cases yet. But she can’t do this alone. Hopps teams up with sly fox, Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) who doesn’t make her job any easier.
In this funny, adventurous film, Goodwin and Bateman play characters that both children and adults would love. Bateman did an amazing job as a supporting cast member; at first you begin to think that his character is annoying, but soon develop a liking for him. It’s wonderful to see how dynamic his character is as the movie goes on, but I’ll let you guys see for yourself. However, with Goodwin’s character, you just love her from the start! She doesn’t let anyone or anything stop her from achieving her dreams, and even though she may be just a little bunny, she is so tough that her size doesn’t even matter.
One complaint I had is that while watching the movie, the score really did not appeal to me as much as the visuals did (except for one part of the soundtrack that I’m sure everyone in the theater enjoyed as well). There were some scenes in the movie where the animation was so spot on that it literally caught me by surprise..
Overall, this film was very well put together and entertaining; I really enjoyed it. I honestly do not see who wouldn’t like this movie. Of course, I think that any child would really like this movie, but also the young at heart or anyone who enjoys Disney films. For Disney, this is another great one to add to the list.
