The Stamford High drama club, the Strawberry Hill Players, recently announced the cast list for its Spring musical, Seussical the Musical.  Seussical incorporates characters from many of the children’s stories written by Dr. Seuss.

The show is set in the magical land of Seuss and is narrated by The Cat in the Hat. The Cat tells the story of Horton the elephant who discovers a tiny world on a speck of dust. Horton’s job is to protect this miniscule planet, called Whoville, from being destroyed by the outside world.  This proves to be difficult as the other jungle animals believe Horton is crazy. The show is full of music and dance numbers and is very kid-friendly.

Tommy Desalvo, the show’s director and SHP alum, said “I think Seussical is very different than Legally Blonde [the 2015 Spring musical], but one thing the two shows have in common is the fun factor!  Seussical is going to be a lot of fun for audiences of all ages as we bring their favorite Dr. Seuss characters and stories to life.”  Chase Roden, SHS junior who plays the Mayor of Whoville, said “I’m so excited to be able to do SHS drama club’s production of Seussical with everyone, especially my best friend Bryce. We have been doing drama together for so long and I can’t wait to see how the show comes out.” The show dates of Seussical The Musical are April 29, April 30, May 5, and May 6.
