Leonardo DiCaprio is Fabulous in New Film, The Revenant

Leonardo DiCaprio is once again an Oscar nominee for starring in his new movie, The Revenant. DiCaprio plays a legendary frontiersman named Hugh Glass who is on a fur trading expedition through unexplored wilderness with his hunting team and his son. During Glass’s journey through the uncharted terrain alone, he approaches two bear cubs and remains unbeknownst that there is a highly aggressive and protective mother grizzly grunting behind him. Glass is brutally mauled by the bear and is basically paralyzed as a result. Glass is immobile for the rest of the journey until Fitzgerald, played by Tom Hardy, betrays and kills his only son. Glass is then left for dead, where he must ignore his injuries and use his survival skills to make it back home to his beloved family and seek revenge on the one who murdered his son and abandoned him in his sickly state. Over the course of his attempt to survive, Glass runs into deadly obstacles, some caused by nature and others by a tribe of Native Americans. How will Glass make it to safety? Will there ever be a way?

I was fortunate enough to watch the movie in theaters the day after it came out, and I must say that I was absolutely dumbfounded by the movie in every way possible. Although it was a little lengthy (two hours and 36 minutes), the plot, the acting and the cinematography were incredible. The buildup of suspense left viewers hanging onto the edge of their seats; nobody knew what was to come in any scene. This movie has been rated 81 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and I absolutely agree with that estimate. DiCaprio once again blew his audience away with his astounding acting skills. I am positive that he portrayed the exact character of the real Hugh Glass perfectly. I don’t believe that anybody else could have played the role of Hugh Glass better than DiCaprio. If DiCaprio does not win an Oscar for this movie, then it will be very clear that the Hollywood movie industry does not like him and purposely deprives him of an award he deserves for this role, along with his roles in other movies such as The Titanic, Wolf of Wall Street, Eating Gilbert Grape, The Great Gatsby, etc.

We all know that DiCaprio deserves the Oscar he has always dreamed of receiving, and this movie should be the first movie to ever grant him one. If you don’t believe me, see the movie for yourself. Trust me – if you like a great drama and thriller film with a lot of action, suspense and climaxes, then The Revenant is the perfect movie for you!
