Fans from all over the country traveled far and wide to see the newest installment of Star Wars, one of the greatest movie franchises of all time. The movie finally came out in what seemed to be a blaze of glory. Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been the most highly anticipated movie since Disney bought the entire movie franchise in 2012. When the making of the movie was finally announced, Star Wars fans all around the world entered a state of joy when they realized that their favorite movie franchise would finally be brought back to life. Many fans have speculated on whether or not this movie could surpass the prequels, despite the fact that J.J. Abrams, one of the best directors of all time, would be conducting the whole operation. But despite all of the speculations, Abrams and all the cast and crew were able to create a movie that had an amazing story. They were able to create new and engaging characters that coincided with the beloved original trilogy characters that we have all come to love in the past.

The film takes place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi. The evil Galactic Empire has finally been defeated and now the galaxy is beginning to rebuild itself. But now in their place is the First Order, the heir of the fallen Galactic Empire, who is waging war against the Resistance, a military alliance who backs the newly founded Republic and is led by none other than Princess Leia Organa. The reason for this war is not just to revive the fallen Empire but also to find and destroy the one who caused its downfall, and that person is Luke Skywalker.

The cast of this movie could not have gotten any better. Harrison Ford was brought back into his role as Han Solo alongside Peter Mayhew who plays Chewbacca; Carrie Fisher reprised her role as Princess Leia and Mark Hamill retook the mantle of Luke Skywalker. While watching each one perform, it was as if they never stopped playing the characters. The newly appointed characters were Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). Each of these actors performed to the highest level and each one brought new elements to Star Wars.

The film, in all honesty, surpasses the prequels in a way that makes you completely forget about the damage to the franchise when they came out. All welcomed the change that this film brought to the franchise, and each scene, character and line of dialogue was written with the intense care that this film deserves. It was the derivative of A New Hope, and it brought the past pleasures of the original trilogy back into the minds of its fans.

Overall, this film was astonishing, and it delivered exactly what was promised to us. It truly brought us to a long time ago in a galaxy far, far way and it has given us hope that more sequels are yet to come. This is one of the best movies of our time and I really recommend watching it.
