This past Friday, February 20, at 7:30 p.m., members of Stamford High School’s improv club put on their tri-annual Strawberry Hill Improv Players show for parents, students, and other fans alike.  The Stawberry Hill Improv Players meet every Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to  work on perfecting the craft of improvisation and preparing for their shows.
The cast included captain Meghan Rowley, senior Alex Brokowski of AITE, senior Will Hunt, senior Ian VanCura, junior Shaina Lubliner, junior Erin Maher, and sophomore Domenika Brice. The Improv Players are advised by Matt Blank and Andrew Rabita, who are both Stamford High School alumni.
Throughout the course of the night, the SHIP actors engaged in several games.  These skits ranged from improvising being in a taxi to making up being super heroes and having to save the world.  First time performer (and Round Table staffer) VanCura was definitely a standout comedian. Another highlight Brokowski made the entire audience laugh with her portrayal of a Russian game show host. Rabita was sure to get the audience involved by asking for different scenarios and conflicts for many of the skits.  One skit even included two audience members who were picked at random to improvise.
The performance definitely provided a plethora of laughs and endless entertainment for audience members.  The actors were great at thinking on their feet and providing a truly memorable performance. The next SHIP performance is in April, and everyone should come out and support our fellow Black Knights!
