Sounds Of The Holidays
December 18, 2014
What’s the best thing about the holidays? The smell of the Christmas tree? Lighting candles for eight nights while you open presents? What most people don’t realize is that the holidays would not be the same without the classic holiday soundtrack. There are songs for everyone. Here are some of the essential holiday songs, in no particular order, for all to hear…
- “Santa Clause is Coming to Town” – The Jackson 5. There are numerous versions of this Christmas hit. However, the version done by Michael Jackson and his brothers made this song what it is today.
- “The Chanukah Song (Part One)” – Adam Sandler. Written and performed by the comedy genius while on Saturday Night Live, this song instantly become a holiday classic.
- “Silver Bells” – Bing Crosby. This version is just incredible. It’s as simple as that.
- “Frosty the Snowman” – Jimmy Durante. If you don’t know this song, you must be living under a rock. This is one of the most recognizable Christmas songs of all time.
- “The Chanukah Song (Part Two)” – Adam Sandler. After the success of the hysterical part one to this holiday tune, Sandler thought it would be a good idea to write a part two. I think he was right.
- “Jingle Bell Rock” – Billy Idol. This song is one of the top selling Christmas songs of all time. It is an instant childhood memory for most people no matter who you are.
- “White Christmas” – Bing Crosby. This song is the top selling Christmas song of all time. Selling over 50 million copies worldwide, this is one of the most prized holiday songs of all time.
- “The Chanukah Song (Part Three)” – Adam Sandler. I couldn’t resist. Sandler is just that awesome.
