About 3 years after her debut single, “Video Games,” was uploaded to her YouTube account, Lana Del Rey swept the younger generation with her first full length album Born To Die, which became the best-selling album of 2012. Since then, Del Rey has captivated the younger generation with her soothing voice and songs about life, love and vulnerability.

She made a long awaited appearance at the Toyota Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, CT on Thursday, May 8th. Wearing a turquoise, flower printed dress, Lana made her way through the stage, which had twisted trees, glowing candles, making the audience feel like they were in an enchanted forest. Throughout the sold out show, she serenaded a sea of adoring fans, who threw gifts and letters onto the stage. “I’m so lucky to be here,” she told shrieking fans, as she sang many of her hit songs such as “Blue Jeans,” “National Anthem,” and “Summertime Sadness. Her voice sounded lush and pretty as she sang. The crowd sang louder and echoing through the theater, which resulted in some people purchasing earplugs.

Lana Del Rey made a great effort to interact with the crowd, and spent much time talking to fans, collecting gifts, signing autographs, and even stepped down during her final song to take pictures. She seemed to enjoy the event every bit as much as the audience.
