Ten albums to look out for this 2014!

1) Ed Sheeran
After his first and latest album “+” in 2011, Ed Sheeran has decided that it’s time to release a new record. Rumor has it that the new material is set to drop on February 17th, but an album name has not yet been released.
2) The Fray
It has been nearly five years since The Fray has come out with something new. It seems as if 2014 will be their year. Following their hugely successful How to Save a Life album in 2005, they released a record named The Fray in 2009. Their newest album Helios is set to drop on February 25th.
3) Adele
Adele’s last album came out in 2011. The number 1 album, 21, had hits such as “Rolling in the Deep” and “Set Fire to the Rain.” Since then, Adele has won a Golden Globe for her song “Skyfall” for the latest James Bond movie of the same name. Also, she gave birth to her son, so she will have a lot to sing about. There is no set date for her album to be released. The only rumor is that it will come out in mid-2014.
4) Foo Fighters
The Foo Fighters had a huge year in 2011. Going back to their roots, recording at home, they released Wasting Light. It is time that they come out with new material. However, there is no release date or album name. 2014 should be just as big of a year as 2011 for Dave Grohl and the guys.
5) Frank Ocean
R&B superstar Frank Ocean is expected to release some new material in 2014. Ocean’s last album, channel ORANGE, came out in mid-2012 with international hits such as “Thinkin Bout You,” “Super Rich Kids” and “Forrest Gump.” Since 2012, Ocean has worked with some of music’s biggest stars, such as Beyonce, Jay Z and John Mayer.
6) Fun.
Fun. really broke through with their most recent album Some Nights. After winning two Grammy Awards, which include Song of the Year and Best New Artist, the band seems ready for more. Rumor has it that Fun. will start working on their new album early this year.
7) Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nearly two and a half years ago, the Red Hot Chili Peppers came out with new material. Their latest album, I’m With You, hit the top of the charts with their single “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie.” The Chili Peppers are known for being very funky and creative with their music. They reached huge success with past hits like, “Under the Bridge, “Scar Tissue,” “Californication,” “Around the World” and “Dani California,” just to name a few.
8) Taylor Swift
24 year old Pop/Country star, Taylor Swift, will be releasing her 5th album later this year. Swift has been on a constant journey since 2006, when she released her debut album Taylor Swift. Since then, she has come out with 3 albums, Fearless, Speak Now and her latest RED. These albums consist of record breaking hits such as “I Knew you were Trouble,” “You Belong with Me” and “Mean.”
9) Rascal Flatts
Rascal Flatts is going head first into 2014 with talk of a new album due later in the year. A new single “Rewind” was released on January 13th. Rascal Flatts is most recognizable for the hit cover-song “Life is a Highway” for the Disney movie Cars. However, they have had numerous hits throughout the years which consist of “Everyday,” “Summer Nights,” “Winner at a Losing Game” and “Sunday Afternoon.”
10) U2
After coming off an impressive Golden Globe win for their song “Ordinary Love” from the movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Irish Rockers, U2, are set to release new material in 2014. The multi Grammy Award winning band has come out with legendary albums such as The Joshua Tree and How to Dismantle the Atomic Bomb.
