January is National Soup Month.

Dorothy Toth

Some of you may not know this, but January is National Soup Month! Soup is a great food to eat as it is often healthy and very low in calories. Soup is awesome because of the fact that it is fairly diverse and there are endless types. With a diversity of soups comes a diversity of people’s preferences. The preferences at Stamford High School vary widely.

Senior Julia DiNino said that her favorite soup is her grandma’s homemade chicken soup, while senior Geoffrey Cahr said he would rather go with some ramen noodles.

Another popular selection of soup is New England Clam Chowder which is favored by sophomore Chrismide Cherry, senior John Cascio, and myself.

Not only do people just like eating soup, but junior Lauren Mitchell said, “Beef barley soup from Fairway Market is definitely my favorite, but later on in my life I want to open a soup place that has the randomest type of soup ever with random ingredients like…squid eye.”

So what’s your favorite type of soup? Embrace your soups ladies and gentlemen – especially during the month of January. Now’s your time!
