It’s finally that time of the year for ghosts, witches, jack-o-lanterns and most importantly, candy. In celebration of Halloween, on Monday, Oct. 31, Stamford High School is allowing students to wear costumes for the first time in several years!  There are still a few guidelines to remember for those who choose to wear a costume:

  1. Head coverings are prohibited (unless it is part of the costume). NO masks and/or face paint.  Students must be identifiable to others.
  2. Costumes that are provocative, revealing, sexual in nature or include questionable props are not allowed.
  3. Costumes depicting violence, alcohol or drugs are not permitted and fake weapons are also banned.
  4. Offensive costumes, or those that might portray stereotypes of culture, gender, heritage, religion etc. are also prohibited.
  5. Students may not wear costumes that affect their performance in class (including gym) or disrupt traffic or safety in the hallways.

Any students who violate these guidelines will be asked to change into normal school attire and will face the issued school consequences.  Any questions regarding your costume idea should be directed to Ms. Malave or Mr. Manka.  Tag or send pictures of your Halloween costume to The Round Table @shsroundtable on Instagram or Twitter for a chance to be featured on our social media!  And just one last guideline: have a happy (and safe) Halloween!
